Empart Launch
Offcial Empart update
Croydon, Victoria - Wednesday 5 October 2005

On Friday, 30 September 2005, Compassion For India (CFI) staff, partners and friends gathered to say goodbye to CFI and simultaneously welcome CFI's new name: Empart.

The buzz in the office was constantly on the increase as the launch deadline approached. Balloons went up in Empart colours, food was prepared, rooms sealed off for 'surprises" during the launch, and people were quickly changing into their new Empart shirts and caps.

At 3pm, the guests arrived and the festivities began. But before the name change to Empart could truly be celebrated, there was time to farewell CFI   seven years of incredible growth both here in Australia and in particular, North India.

After introductory drinks, everyone was ushered outside holding helium balloons in Indian colours, with one blue balloon representing the blue wheel on the Indian flag. It was a somber moment as a eulogy was read out, saying goodbye to CFI and shutting the book on the first incredible chapter of this God-driven journey.

After the reading, the balloons were released into the air, and as they floated into the distance, all attention was drawn to the future   EMPART.

With a flurried rush, a midwife rushed out calling for "Mr. Chacko". When Jossy Chacko (Founder and Chief Executive) finally responded, he was dragged into the "delivery room" - which was the tearoom, amid much laughing and confusion.

Guests were drawn down the corridor by the most disturbing sounds of a woman in labour  and with much caution and curiosity they filed down to the delivery room, to be greeted by a very "exhausted" Jenni Chacko (Founder), who had just "given birth" to   Empart!

After that it was cigars (Empart pens) all "round and more celebrations over food and multimedia displays.

Jossy Chacko then spoke about the wonderful memories and growth that he and the team had witnessed over the years. And now, as Empart moves forward, their values remain the same:

"Igniting church planting movements among unreached people "

As Empart begins, there are fond memories of CFI, but now it is all about the future. One core goal will remain unchanged - planting 100, 000 churches in North India and reaching into the four corners of the Globe, bringing the good Word to all, so that all might be saved.

But why change our name from CFI to Empart? Good question.

Over the past seven years, CFI has experienced exponential and blessed growth. To keep up with this growth, and the opportunities of the Great Commission in other nations as well as India, CFI has had to evolve. Empart is the culmination of that extraordinary growth.

From October 1, 2005, Empart has now taken over all collection, management and coordination services previously done under CFI in our support countries. CFI Ministries will continue to be the entity responsible for all the field operations in India. This segregation of responsibilities is the key organizational structure change of the entity.
