Empart Children’s Homes are tightly integrated with our church planting strategy. The Children’s Homes are initiated and managed by the local church planter and his wife. Tangible benefits of this approach include:
» As the children’s lives are changed, the credit will go to the gospel of Jesus Christ!
» Church members are able to be actively involved in this ministry to the children. They are often involved in cooking assistance, and other aspects of practical, domestic care.
» Conversely, the children are also included in church activities, including Sunday school, midweek meetings and prayer meetings.
» The local church is esteemed by the general community for the “good work” of caring for these needy children, so that both the credibility and profile of the church is elevated within the community.
» Experience indicates that the local community soon takes opportunity to become involved in the Children’s Home. This involvement usually involves both financial and practical support.
We are committed to avoid creating large children’s institutions, preferring to keep our children in smaller groups (maximum of 15-20) so that each child can benefit from a family atmosphere. Our experience has shown that the children esteem and emulate their carers, to the extent that many of our children already say they want to be church planters when they grow up!
